Description:

The factory letter confirms it was part of a shipment of 200 guns to the U.S. Government Inspector at the Colt plant on January 20, 1891, and also list it as returned "for remodeling and cleaning and subsequently reshipped to the Commanding Officer, Springfield Armory. . . on January 29, 1902." The Kopec letter details the revolver's history and markings, and condition. He concluded the factory letter was in error regarding the return given the revolver retains its original barrel length.
