The factory letter lists this rifle in .45/70 with a 24 inch, nickel steel, octagon barrel; plain trigger, checkered pistol grip stock with shotgun butt, Lyman front sight, and Lyman "rear with cup disc" sight and as returned and repaired on October 21, 1895, in order 40366, received in the warehouse on September 22, 1899, and as shipped on September 23, 1899, in order 35777. Also includes a letter from Doug Turnbull Restoration, Inc. indicating this rifle was "originally in about 60% overall condition" and was "restored to factory letter condition, with refinished and recheckered wood, color case hardened receiver, and rust blued barrel and magazine tube. Includes a second large rear sight aperture disc and sling swivels.
