PRF - PROFESSIONALLY REFINISHED OR RESTORED

Description:

Manufactured c. 1863-65, one of approximately 11,000 with the barrel sleeved to .50 RF (56-52 or 56-50 interchangeable) with three-groove rifling and fitted with stabler cut-off by Springfield Armory c. 1867-1874. "R.C.M.P." (possibly Royal Canadian Mounted Police) carved in left of buttstock. Absent rear sight slide and screw.
