Frame number dates to 1910 manufactured. The Marine Corps purchased 1,300 New Services revolvers in the 23,101-26,300 frame number range from Colt thru the Navy Department beginning in May 1909. These revolvers were known as the Model 1909. The butt is stamped "U.S./ M.C./No/863", with a lanyard swivel correctly installed.
