The maker's have kindly confirmed that this gun was one of a pair sold in 1890 to W.R.G. Laverton. With replacement blued steel barrels marked on the concave rib "NEW BARRELS BY S.R. JEFFERY & SON LTD. GUILDFORD" and struck with the Birmingham nitro proof marks. The action signed "CHARLES LANCASTER/COLONIAL QUALITY" on each side, and with automatic safety with gold inlaid "SAFE".
