Manufactured c. mid-late 1800s by Samuel Hancock & Sons of Sheffield, England. 10 1/4" OAL, 6" clip point blade with backwards rider and horse trademark on the left ricasso over "MAZEPPA", German silver guard and pommel, pearl grip scales. Includes a leather sheath with German silver fittings. Fine, the blade showing mostly a bright grey patina with some scattered minor pitting, some minor cracking in the right grip scale, and mild wear on the sheath.
