Description:

The shadow box includes two photographs (one a tin type and one that appears to be daguerreotype) that appear to be of Captain George W. Yates. There is also an informational piece about Yates' military service, which came to a conclusion at the Battle of Little Bighorn. There is also a Boston Regalia Co. envelope containing a ribbon marked to Custer Post No. 7 of the Grand Army of the Republic in St. Joseph, Missouri. The tin type shows a dark aged patina with faint image while the daguerreotype has a distinct image with minimal wear and some of the case lining stuck to the back of the frame. The ribbon and envelope show some mild wear.
