The included Alabama Military Hall of Honor letter states that this pistol was one of a grouping ordered by the Alabama National Guard to replace Model 1911/1911A1 pistols pulled from the guard for issue to front line units during the early years of World War II, and remained in the guard's stores until sold to The Marion Military Institute Museum in 2011. Includes Kraft style box hand numbered to gun and 911th Tactical Airlift Group patch.
