PRF - PROFESSIONALLY REFINISHED OR RESTORED
The included factory letter confirms that the revolver shipped to Beck & Gregg Hardware Co. in Atlanta on 4 December 1952 and confirms the current configuration apart from the engraving and silver inlay which was professionally added later. It features near full coverage floral scroll engraving and inlaid silver wire vines. The back strap is silver inlaid with "Lt.col. R.A.BAXTER. Lt. Colonel Reuben A. "Barney" Baxter (1917-2002) received his wings in the spring of 1940 and on 7 December 1941 he was stationed in the Philippines, where he valiantly led evacuation efforts of U.S. military planes and was later the base commander at Ent Field in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After the war he took command of the 3519th Strategic Wing stationed at RAF Upper Heyford in England. Includes a red velvet soft case/sleeve.
