Description:

Only around 7,000 of this model were manufactured. Neatly period inscribed "R. Leighton" in script on the butt. His identity is not documented, but there was a Richard/Robert B. Leighton in the 106th Illinois Infantry as well as a Robert Leighton in the 35th New York Infantry during the Civil War.
