One of approximately 1,280 Moore "Long Enfield" rifle-muskets purchased by the U.S. government. Assembled in New York by John P. Moore with a mixture of American made and imported parts to fulfill U.S. government contracts. "1863" dated lock. Birmingham proofed barrel. With a socket bayonet.
