OE - GOOD - some minor replacement parts; metal smoothly rusted or lightly pitted in places, cleaned; principal lettering, numerals and design on metal legible; lightly scratched, bruised or minor cracks repaired; in good working order.

Description:

This is an interesting, possibly Victorian era or later, custom made decorative piece possibly built with some original components. The Latin motto "VIVIT POST" "FUNERA VIRTUS" (after death, virtue survives) is inscribed on the front panels. Others have various designs, mainly men at arms, fortifications, a bust of Charles V, and the Holy Roman Empire's reichsadler. Provenance: The William Ashby Collection; The Collection of Joe M.
