Originally manufactured c. 1876-1877, this revolver has been subsequently modified to a "Sheriff's Model" configuration with a 4" ejectorless barrel. The back strap is marked "W.F.&CO. DEL RIO. TEXAS 167". Includes a typed Colt record phone confirmation that confirms the caliber, finish, and lists the barrel as originally 7 1/2", as well as shipment to Hartley & Graham in New York on 30 December 1876. Also includes a copy of an article by O.C. Young describing the revolver. Also includes a floral tooled leather holster.
