So named for the effect produced by the elaborate decoration, the Suit of Light is the traditional garb of Spanish Bullfighting. Traditionally made and decorated by hand, the individual pieces were often made to provide an element of protection without unduly restricting mobility. The grouping consists of a black "montera" cap, high-waisted jacket, vest and paints. The jacket, vest and pants are blue cloth construction with elaborate gold bullion wire and sequin decoration, especially dense on the shoulders of the jacket, with red stone accents and floral motifs. No makers marks are present on any of the garments, and no other accessories are included. Very good, with minor wear and staining.
