This is a rare example of the Japanese Type 100 paratrooper bayonet. These bayonets were issued to Japanese troops for use with the Type 100 submachine gun and the Type 100 paratrooper rifle. The Toyoda Jidoshoki Seisakusho factory marking is visible on the spine of the tang and the pommel is numbered "1979". It measures 12 1/4" overall with a 7 13/16" blade with a deep fuller on each side. Includes a correct scabbard and leather frog. Very good overall retaining most of the finish with some scattered light oxidation, including on the scabbard. The age-hardened frog is fine with some mild wear and a torn retention strap.
