The factory letter lists this revolver as part of a 300 revolver shipment to the government inspector at Colt on March 20, 1880, and also indicates that the revolver was one of the revolvers returned to Colt for refurbishment and was shipped to Springfield Armory on December 18, 1900. The barrel has a Henry Nettleton inspection mark, and the frame has a David F. Clark inspection mark. Standard mixed numbers for an Artillery Model. The back strap (54190) and trigger guard (54191) happen to be sequential.
