Manufactured under a July of 1861 contract, with delivery of 10,000 rifles completed in 1864. "1863" dated lock and barrel. Serial number "3559" marked on the barrel tang. Includes saber bayonet with a 22 1/2 inch polished steel blade marked "COLLINS & CO" in an arch above "HARTFORD/CONN." on the ricasso and "9124" on the flat of the brass hilt, and leather scabbard with brass ends.
