Description:

The included factory letter lists this revolver as shipping from the factory in November, 1872, and shipping to M. W. Robinson, of New York, NY. Also included is a letter from Shooters Supply of South Hutchinson, KS, explaining the provenance of the revolver following it through the family back to Travis Butler, as well as listing his time served in Coffeeville, KS, as well as Wichita, KS. Travis Butler was a lawman in these communities and it is quite possible that he carried this revolver in the line of duty for many year. The revolver is pictured on page 399 of " Smith & Wesson Sixguns of the Old West" by David Chicoine. Provenance: The Supica Collection
