Description:

1) “They Shall not Perish,” 1918 by Douglas Volk, co-creator of the famous Gibson Girls series with Charles Dana Gibson. 2) “Americans All!,” 1919. 3) “I summon you to comradeship in the Red Cross,” 1918. 2 & 3 are by Howard Chandler Christy (1872-1952) who was one of the most important American illustrators of the early 1900s, beginning his career as a battlefield artist, depicting skirmishes in the Spanish American War for publications such as Colliers, Scribner's, and Harper's. During WWI, he returned to battle depictions as well as poster design. Following the War, Christy became very successful as a portrait artist, taking commissions from Teddy Roosevelt to Amelia Earhart. These three posters are very collectable, are framed and matted, are in frames measuring 44 1/4" x 30 3/8" and have strong, vibrant colors.
