Another rifle with very similar side plate and stock carving is featured on page 228 of "Thoughts on the Kentucky Rifle in Its Golden Age" by Kindig. On the preceding page, Peter Belles is identified as working in Lykens Township in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, in 1831.
