PRF - PROFESSIONALLY REFINISHED OR RESTORED
The factory letter lists this revolver in .45 caliber with a 4 3/4 inch barrel, soft finish, and rubber grips when shipped to Hartley & Graham in New York City on January 15, 1885, in a shipment of 25 revolvers of this type. The remarks note that "soft" finish guns were intended to engraving outside of the factory. The right grip has a raised relief carved steer head and a pink gem "eye" on the screw nut. A copy of "The J.W. Bates Collection" is included listing this revolver as "from the Ft. Fisher Texas Ranger Museum."
