PRF - PROFESSIONALLY REFINISHED OR RESTORED

A refinement of the Stokes-pattern mortar, the M1 81mm Mortar was an American standard from the 1930s into the 1950s. The model, manufacturer and serial number markings are on the base, with the tube unmarked. Included with the mortar is a spiked baseplate, clamp-on bipod with integral T&E adjustments, cased M4 optical sight (mild wear, but in good order with spirit levels intact), manuals, leather muzzle cap, and an eight-round case of M880 training rounds (all with individual protective tubes, one with inert training fuse, none with lifting charge or explosive filler, not destructive devices in their own right). The tube has been subject to partial deactivation/reactivation; metal rods were added near the muzzle and breech, but has since been cut away, and there is no sign of a hole cut near the breech. NOTE: This Destructive Device is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479, National Firearms Act.
