Description:

Manufactured in 1858. Carvings and inlays on both sides of the grip, and initials "PH" carved on the butts of the grip. Includes letters from Norm Flayderman and R.L. Wilson in which Wilson states, "After more than 60 years as a collector and student of American and European firearms, the number of Colt Model 1851 Navy revolvers I have seen or know of with the 6-inch barrel is so few that they could be counted on the fingers of one hand." and that this revolver, serial number 89272, "...is among the most rare of all percussion firearms from the genius of Colonel Samuel Colt."
