Includes a magazine article mentioning the "BB" mark underneath the serial number in reference to new design barrel and barrel bushings. The included factory letter, signed by Colt Industries Spare Parts Supervisor, R. H. Wagner, and dated September 10, 1971, lists it as one of an estimated 1,500 interim models of the Mark IV produced with the older style of Government Model roll marks on the slide as well as shipment to H. Cook Sporting Goods in El Paso, Texas, on June 29, 1970.
