The tsuba is iron, four-lobed, with a sculpted and gold accented mountain scene, tan cord wrap over gold accented floral menuki, and a leather covered hardwood saya. The tang is signed on the left, with one mekugi-ana. Consignor notes attribute the signature as "Bungo ju Yamashiro-daijo Fujiwara Kunihira" and estimate production at c.1675. The blade shows some minor spotting and polishing, otherwise is very good, and the fittings are fair.
