Description:

37 1/2" OAL, 26 5/8" blade with lightly wavy hamon set in a copper habaki. The tsuba is iron, four-lobed, with a sculpted and /gold accented mountain scene, tan cord wrap over gold and silver accented insect menuki, silver finished engraved kashira with "crossed hawk feathers in ring" mons, and a black lacquer saya. The tang is unsigned, with one mekugi-ana. Consignor notes attribute the blade as Edo period construction, circa 1750. The saya is cracked and rough, and the sword is very good.
