The included factory letter lists this revolver as being chambered in .44/40 with a blue finish and barrel length and grips not listed when shipped in a ten gun shipment to Winchester Repeating Arms Company in New Haven, Connecticut on May 9, 1884. With a copy of the article "The Colt and Winchester Agreement of 1884 and Introduction of the Colt Lightning Rifle" which mentions this revolver by serial number and the other Revolvers in this shipment as likely having been used by Winchester to test their Mason revolver against.
