Galbrath Line Throwing Cannon Attributed to the S.S. Mansfield

Reconfigured to use an unknown blank cartridge to fire with the use of a hand operated firing pin. The brass cannon and carriage are mounted to a hardwood table on caster wheels with appropriate spots for the ramrod and a second fuse ignition cap. The carriage is marked "652 USI. HMS" on top and has the Gallbrath marking cast into each side. With ram rod, bore brush, two projectiles, a spent 105mm howitzer casing, two reproduction Westley Richards trade labels, and a copy of a letter from Tampa Ship Repair & Dry Dock Co., Inc. attributing the gun to the S.S. Jacobs Mansfield (likely an error referring to DD-728 U.S.S. Mansfield). Very fine as mounted with an attractive patina overall.
