38" OAL, 27" blade with a slightly wavy hamon, and shin gunto pattern hilt and saya (retention stud hardware absent). The tang is unsigned, with two mekugi-ana. Consignor-supplied notes suggest blade construction in the Muromachi period, c.1550, passed down in a family line and refitted during the World War II/Second Sino-Japanese War era. The furniture shows wear and staining appropriate to age and use, and the blade is very good with some minor spotting and handling marks.
