Manufactured c. 1877-1878. Fixed blade front sight and 1,100 yard folding ladder rear sight, high arch breechblock marked "U.S./MODEL/1873", oval "ESA/1878" (Erskine S. Allin) cartouche on the left wrist.

Fine as arsenal refinished, with some patches of light freckling and handling marks. Stock is also fine, with dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
