Description:

George Fay was a gunmaker in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania, until at least 1882 when his shop was robbed.

Rating Definition:

Good with dark brown finish and patina on the barrel rubbed back at the signature, moderate pitting on the breech end and lock, brass wear plates by the reworked barrel tang, and general moderate overall wear including some small cracks and small chips on the stock. Mechanically fine (set trigger first).
