Factory letter states rifle was received in the warehouse on June 15, 1905 and shipped the next day with a 22 inch round barrel in .45-70 caliber, plain trigger, takedown configuration, checkered pistol grip stock, half magazine, rubber shotgun buttplate, extra lightweight configuration, and Winchester high velocity. The letter also provided a return and repair date: August 11, 1915. Lyman beaded blade front sight, filler block in rear sight dovetail, and Lyman receiver sight. Left side of lower tang marked "665 XX." Assembly number "665" repeated on stock inlet.

Very fine overall as professionally refinished with minimal handling marks, crisp forend and stock checkering. Mechanically excellent.
