Description:

Factory letter states revolver was sold to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. of Chicago, Illinois and shipped to Soto Brothers with dealer locations in Pearce, Gleeson, Courtland and Wilcox, Arizona territory, on February 11, 1897 (Arizona became a state in 1912) with a 4 3/4 inch barrel in .45 caliber, nickel finish, relief carved ox head motif on grip, and factory engraving. Factory engraving consists of floral scrollwork along with fan patterns on recoil shield, loading gate, and back strap shoulder, zig-zag line and dot motif on rear of cylinder, top strap and ejector rod housing, and geometric line pattern on back strap and trigger guard. The right grip panel features a relief carved ox head. Matching serial numbers on frame, trigger guard, and back strap.

Rating Definition:

Very good as period replated, some softened engraving, replacement cylinder pin, and grips with hairline crack on left panel, couple small chips, and worn carving from spending a lifetime in the hand. Mechanically fine.
