Description:

Per the included framed document signed by President Robert E. McNellis of the El Paso Saddlery Co., the #11 card in the accompanying frame was "once the property of Patrick Floyd Garrett, the famous Lawman who killed 'Billy the Kid' in Fort Sumner in July of 1881." McNellis indicates that he was friends with Garrett's son Jarvis and purchased from him a roll-top desk that had belonged to Pat Garrett which contained cards from "several decks of 'Mexican Monte' cards" which Jarvis indicated had belonged to his father. There were 102 cards total. He also notes that Jarvis was his best friend and was the vice president of El Paso Saddlery. McNellis also once sold Pat Garrett's Single Action Army through Arms Gazette on behalf of Jarvis Garrett in 1976. The framed display also displays the back of a card and a #4 card.

Rating Definition:

Very good with minor age and storage related wear and screw holes in the frames. These cards do not turn up often!
