Manufactured in the 1870s by Colt using on-hand 1861 revolver components and subsequently fitted with period replacement sights, added rib to underside of barrel, and a carved grip with brass cap inscribed "AL. JENNINGS/MEXICO." Likely a reference to Alphonso "Al" Jennings who robbed trains and later became an attorney in the Oklahoma Territory and a silent film star. In 1904 he received a pardon by President Theodore Roosevelt.

Rating Definition:

Good overall with slight traces of original finish in protected areas, otherwise a gray patina, period modifications (see above), crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent.
