Henry's were manufactured in 1860-1866, and half of them are believed to have been used by Union soldiers, mostly purchased by the men themselves, some using reenlistment bonuses. "That damned Yankee rifle that can be loaded on Sunday and fired all week" was one of the most advanced firearms of the war, and continued to be popular during the Western expansion that followed. This example was manufactured in June of 1865. It is fitted with a German silver blade front sight and replacement buckhorn rear sight.

Rating Definition:

Fine as professionally restored overall, with attractive artificially aged brass, surface oxidation on the barrel. The replacement wood has some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. An attractive professional restoration!
