Description:

Manufactured 1812-1815, these pistols resemble the Harpers Ferry U.S. Model 1805 flintlock pistol and utilized the swivel mounted ramrod design earlier than any other U.S. martial pistol. An estimated 4,252 were manufactured at the Virginia Manufactory, with some variations for the Virginia state militia. Lock plate marked "VIRGINIA" and "RICHMOND/181[ ]" (last digit of date is illegible). "5" is marked on some of the brass components. Some components are replacements and artificially aged.

Rating Definition:

Good as reconverted and restored, with much of the applied brown finish, some replacement components, light pitting, repaired and refinished wood with some minor chips and dings. Mechanically fine.
