Two Civil War Breech Loading Percussion Carbines

A) Massachusetts Arms Co. Smith Carbine

Manufactured c. 1861-1865.

ConditionGood as refinished, with brown patina, corrosion, wear and pitting. Modern replacement hammer assembly, percussion nipple, trigger guard and trigger. Forearm is good with numerous scattered scratches, chips and dents, and a few filled in repairs. Refinished stock is very good. Mechanically fine.

Manufactured in the early 1860s. "HLB" period carved on top of the buttstock.

ConditionGood as refinished, with brown and gray patina, wear, pitting and a repaired trigger. Refinished stock is fair with cracks, chips, scratches and numerous filled in repairs. Mechanically fine.
