Description:

Irish immigrant Robert McCormick leased the Globe Mills near Philadelphia starting in 1798 and manufactured muskets and pistols on contract with the U.S. government. McCormick delivered approximately 2,005 muskets between 1797 and 1800 to the federal government as well as others on state contracts. He was unable to complete his contracts because he was thrown in debtor's prison in 1801. This example has "PA" on the top of the barrel along with "80.R: 7 Co. No. 15" on the upper left.

Rating Definition:

Fair as reconverted with gray and brown patina, mild pitting, cracked stock, and moderate wear. Mechanically needs work.
