Description:

Manufactured 1942. This pistol's serial number falls within the 541,103 to 569,725 range of 2,828 pistols sent to the U.S. Office of Strategic Services (housed at the Fowler Building in Rosslyn, Virginia) between April 17, 1944, and September 26, 1944, under "Factory Order No. 4420, War Department Requisition W-19-059-Ord-1038", as discussed on page 81 of "The Colt Pocket Hammerless Automatic Pistols" by Brunner. The factory letter states the revolver was sold to the U.S. government and shipped to Property Officer, Supply Division, Office of Strategic Services, Fowler Building, Rosslyn, Virgina, on August 11, 1944. Includes a reproduction Kraft type box.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with most of the professionally restored finish, a few scattered light handling marks, and some light wear on the grips. Mechanically excellent. Box is excellent.
