Description:

1) USMC "frogskin" style backpack, double sided spring/spring print material with canvas straps, "CONMAR" zipper, and the flap marked "U.S." on top and "G.&R.CO./1943" on the interior. Currently attached to a "U.S. M.C." marked canvas web belt with a 1942 dated Froelich 1911/1911A1 magazine pouch (2 magazines included), 1943 dated E.A. Brown first aid pouch (kit absent), and a faintly marked submachine gun magazine pouch (magazines absent). 2) "US" marked camouflage backpack, constructed from two/sided spring/autumn cloth (autumn pattern on exterior, pack not reversible) with canvas straps and drawstring closure. The top flap bears faint hand markings on the exterior, with the interior dated "1943" with a faint manufacturer's stamp. Provenance: The Putnam Green/Sycamore Collection
