Description:

The factory letter indicates this rifle was invoiced on "March 27, 1877, to Sharps General Agent, E.S. Harris, 177 Broadway, New York City. It is noted as a Model 1874 Business Rifle. The calibre was .45 and the list price was $35." The same rifle was invoiced again on August 14, 1878, to J.P. Lower of Denver, Colorado, as a Model 1874 Sporting rifle with a part octagon barrel either 28 or 30 inches in length, an overall weight of 9 lbs. 9 oz., and a price of $25. Good as refinished and assembled with mixed parts, re-lined barrel, some chips and cracks in the wood, oxidation/pitting, and mild wear. Mechanically fine.
