Description:

Manufactured in 1889. Includes a letter from Ron Graham about the revolver and its rarity as a possibly one of a kind .32 Colt Sheriff's Model. The factory letter lists the revolver in .32 caliber with a 3 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish, and rubber grips and indicates it shipped to Colt's San Francisco Agency on December 3, 1889. Page 365 of "The Official Record of the Colt Single Action Army Revolver, 1873-1895" lists only one revolver in .32 caliber with a 3 1/2 inch barrel and blue finish under the list of .32 Colt "Plain Revolvers with Ejectors." They included revolvers listed in the records as ".32/c" like this one as well as those recorded as ".32 Colt" for their survey. They do not list any Sheriff's Model revolvers in this caliber nor .32 S&W. This revolver may be the lone example included in the revolvers with ejectors. The matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard, and butt. Provenance: The Tommy Rholes Collection; The Charles Marx Collection

Rating Definition:

Fair with gray and brown patina, scattered pitting, and moderate to heavy overall wear. The grips are very good with aged tones, distinct designs and checkering, and mild age and handling wear. Mechanically functions fine.
