A) Winchester Model 1885 Low Wall Rifle

Bore Condition: The bore is darkened with pitting and visible rifling.
Description:

Manufactured in 1901. "22 W.C.F." marked on top of the barrel, "1" weight marking on bottom of barrel. Marble front sight.

Rating Definition:

Good with strong traces of original finish visible in protected areas, smooth gray and brown patina on the balance, with scattered light freckling. Absent upper tang screw, empty drilled and tapped hole for a tang peep sight, absent rear sight on the barrel with a filler block in place. Wood is also good as sanded and re-oiled, with some faint cross-hatched lines visible in the forearm, discoloration, and numerous scattered dents, scratches and nicks. Mechanically fine.

Description:

Manufactured in 1893. "22 LONG" marked on top of the barrel, "1" weight marking on bottom of barrel. Initials "HEJ" carved on the left of the forearm, with "JVH" on the left of the buttstock.

Rating Definition:

Good with darkened brown and gray patina, scattered oxidation and light pitting. Wood is also good with mild wear, discoloration, and numerous scattered dents, scratches and nicks. Absent elevator and rear section of the rear sight. Mechanically fine.
