Bore Condition: Darkened with light pitting and defined rifling.
Description:

There were approximately 3,956 Model 1885 Remington-Lee bolt action rifles delivered on U.S. Navy contract between 1889-1893. "U.S.N./naval anchor/No 1047/W.W.K." marked on top of the receiver ring, small "H" in a star Navy inspection stamps, "RL" marked Springfield buckhorn rear sight, and partly legible "PHILADELPHIA" stamped on top of the buttstock. According to page 48 of the book "The Remington-Lee Rifle" by Eugene Myszkowski, "The first rifles, with Navy numbers beginning at 1001, were issued to the USS Philadelphia."

Rating Definition:

Good with some original blue finish mostly in protected areas, scattered spotting and pitting. Stock is very good as re-oiled, with scattered light dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
