A) U.S. Springfield Model 1879 Trapdoor Rifle

Description:

Manufactured in 1879. Boxed script "SWP/1879" cartouche stamped on the left wrist of the stock with circled script "P" proof on bottom. Includes a brown leather sling.

Rating Definition:

Very good with strong traces of original finish visible in protected areas, mostly smooth brown patina and scattered spotting/corrosion on the exposed metal surfaces with defined markings. Stock is fine with a few scattered light scratches and dents, a few minor cracks at the edges, and a crisp cartouche. Mechanically excellent.
