Description:

The action of this carbine is covered by 1856 and 1858 patents by George W. Morse of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The sporting guns were manufactured by Muzzy & Co. of Worcester, Massachusetts, in the late 1850s to around 1861. Less than 20 of the approximately 103 Morse carbines and rifles are known.

Rating Definition:

Fair with gray and brown patina, moderate pitting, repairs to the action and wood, cracks in the forend and stock, replacement front sight, and moderate wear. Mechanically needs work.
