Civil War Era J. P. Moore's Sons Short Enfield Pattern Percussion Musket

Assembled c. 1861-1863 in New York by John P. Moore with a mixture of American made and imported parts, many variations of these Moore's Enfields were purchased by the federal governments and state governments for use in the Civil War. Lock marked "MOORE" with light border engraving, barrel appears to have always been smoothbore.

ConditionGood, with traces of the original finish, some scattered light pitting/oxidation, and a couple hairline cracks, minor edge chips, and minor handling marks on the wood. Mechanically excellent.
