A) Norwich U.S. Model 1861 Rifle-Musket

Bore Condition: The bore is darkened with pitting/corrosion and visible rifling.
Description:

"1863" dated tail of the lock with the Federal Eagle and "U.S./NORWICH" at the front, non-visible barrel date, and "V/P/eagle head proofs at the upper left breech of the barrel.

Rating Definition:

Good with brown and gray patina, and some scattered patches of pitting. Stock is also good as sanded and re-oiled, with numerous scattered dents, scratches, small holes, and a few chips. Absent rear sight, absent ram rod. Mechanically fine.

Description:

"1863" dated tail of the lock with non-visible Federal Eagle and partly visible "U.S./BRIDESBURG" at the front, non-visible barrel date, and "V/P/eagle head proofs at the upper left breech of the barrel.

Rating Definition:

Fair as refinished and shortened, with brown patina, scattered pitting and wear. Stock is also fair as shortened, modified, sanded and re-oiled, with numerous scattered dents, scratches, chips, a few cracks, and an absent section to the right of the barrel tang. Absent sights, absent ram rod. Clogged percussion nipple hole, otherwise mechanically fine.
