Bore Condition: The bores are dark with pitting/oxidation and visible rifling in the upper barrel.
Description:

The LeMat is one of the most distinctive and famous of all 19th century revolvers thanks to an unusual central smoothbore "grape shot" barrel combined with its use by well-known Confederate military officers, including P. G. T. Beauregard, Braxton Bragg, and J. E. B. Stuart. They were designed by Jean Alexandre LeMat of New Orleans, with an estimated 2,900 mainly manufactured in Liege, Belgium and Paris, France, with a very small amount surviving today. It features a with a selector on the tip of the hammer for switching between the cylinder/rifled upper barrel and shot barrel. Barrel address has been lost due to wear, numbered "145" on various components. Provenance: The Malcolm B. Troup, Captain, US Army, Retired Collection

Rating Definition:

Fair, with dark grey-brown patina, some polishing evidence, light-mild pitting, and the well-worn grip has minor handling marks throughout. Some loading lever components are absent. Mechanically needs work.
